Total Home Consulting opened up to serve the Twin Cities metro area in 2023. Following a transformative journey to Joshua Tree National Park and experiencing the power of healing and nurturing spaces, our founder Tom Rupp opened up his calendar and started helping transform homes, work spaces, outdoor sanctuaries and everything in between to help people live better and live their best relaxed lives. We have done work all space types from executive suites, commercial spaces, private retreats, and residential homes.
Tom got their start 12 years ago in their own 130 year old home in Saint Paul. After serving as a half-way house for the 25 years prior, Tom looked beyond the caving ceilings, crumbling plaster, missing doors, uneven floors and more to see the potential within and ignite a passion to update, renovate and customize. Room by room, project by project, Tom tackled new plumbing, in-floor heat, tiling, patching plaster and drywall, running new electrical, circuit mapping, reverse osmosis water, Radon mitigation, insulation, replacing windows, repointing the foundation both inside and out, custom millwork, custom walkways, floor patching, and everything in-between.

About Tom
Tom grew up in Saint Paul, MN and studied Theatre at the University of Minnesota. Finding a career in finance at Hennepin County, Tom sought an outlet for working with their hands. Total Home Consulting became the result. Traveling through Europe, growing up around historic homes, and the power of natural elements is the inspiration for creating healing spaces.
